A Bit About Me
Who am I, where am I and what do I do?

Hello,
My name is Jasha Salter and I have been studying Joel since the first day my friend, actress Audrey Totter, gave me Practicing the Presence in 1986. After reading the book, I searched desperately for a tape group and teacher. I found both, a tape group in Santa Monica and a teacher in Yucca Valley. There were other teachers, but Will Hoff had been Joel’s youngest teacher and was so dedicated to meditation that I knew he was meant to be mine.

I studied Joel every day, eventually collecting all the tapes and all the books. I went to countless retreats, helped Will with his 1959 Healing Outline (with the oral approval of Geri MacDonald). It later became the publication now available on line and at Lulu.com.

One Christmas, Geri MacDonald, whom I had met through Will, had her entire staff resign. I packed up and went to Sun City, Arizona to help her get her office in order. Soon she entrusted me with practitioner calls, organizing and preserving Joel’s original letters, creating a website, and finding a lawyer to help copyright materials.

After some time, I moved away from helping the IW office. I soon found myself with a student group studying at our week-long and weekend retreats, later having on-line meetings and studying Joel’s Monthly Letters.
Eventually, I was contacted by Sam Goldsmith, Joel’s step-son. Sam shared some history with me that made me realize that it was time for me to retire a bit and “leave” The Infinite Way. However, I never left Joel. Joel has never stopped being my friend and spiritual teacher.

As I am now in beginning my 7th decade, it is time to make sure that the materials I have collected over the years from teachers and students, original, un-edited works, are preserved and shared with serious followers of Joel.

I remain a student, fan and devotee of Joel. It is my joy to meet you and hope that you will get in touch to let me know how you like the works and the website. If you have any questions, I am happy to answer.

For the record, I live in Los Angeles, California with my husband. I have children and grandchildren and have been blessed with lessons and challenges to this day.
None of us have an easy time with the Path. It will continue to challenge us our entire lives. The key is to never forget that “God is closer than breathing, nearer than hands and feet.”
